## Prepare before you apply

Gather your income documentsWe know which pay stubs, benefit letters, offer letters or other proof of income each community takes, so just ask us.

Write down your rental historyKeep a list of past addresses, dates and landlord contact info for yourself.

Pull records tied to a screening issueIf it applies, gather receipts, payment plans, court papers showing how a case ended, or letters and emails. Ask your locator what helps.

Work out your move-in budgetInclude the first rent payment, deposits, application fees, and other charges.

Confirm fees and refund rulesAsk what you pay before approval and which amounts you can get back.

Plan for a guarantor or cosignerIf you need one, we check which companies they take and who qualifies. Ask what it costs and whether there's a separate deposit.

Confirm the unit and the next stepCheck the unit, move date, current price, and how to apply with the community.
